Important Announcement!

We are now Closed.

Dear friends, family, lovers, concubines, snake charmers, and parrot man,

New Orleans Haus has officially closed its doors as of 27. April 2011.  We’ve had a good run, we’ve learned a lot, and we’ve met some amazing people along the way.  From an idea scribbled on the back of a napkin, New Orleans Haus has come a long way.  More than ten thousand Berliners have been introduced or reunited with gumbo, crawfish, jambalaya, and po-boys.

We’ve offered free German classes, a Booze School, haircuts, improv theater classes, and NFL games.  We have hosted parties and provided catering to organizations including the US Embassy, Eiszeit Kino, Lemontown, and FC Union Berlin.  After the BP oil spill, we protested and paraded through the streets of Kreuzberg with a marching band.

You, our customers and fans, have been amazing.  We could not have done it without you, and we really appreciate your support.  This is not the beginning, this is the end.  Wait, this is not the end, but the beginning.  We are not disappearing.  The events we helped get off the ground will hopefully continue for a long time.

After an extended ‘typical european’ vacation, we may be persuaded once again to cook up a big pot of gumbo, batter some catfish, and suck down some crawfish.  (It will help if you’re willing to part with a large stash of cash.)

To infinity and beyond!
